Feeling a little sleepy and out of touch with yourself?

Awakening your Eros energy can wake you up and connect you to your creativity and purpose.
🔥 What Is Eros Energy—and Why do Type 9s need to Connect with it?
Eros energy is your life force—the spark that brings depth, desire, and soulful presence into your life. While often misunderstood as purely sexual or romantic, Eros is actually about vitality, creativity, beauty, and longing.
For Enneagram Type Nines, this energy is often buried. They tend to disconnect from Eros in order to stay comfortable and maintain harmony.
Over time, this results in emotional numbness, fatigue, and a loss of purpose.
But the truth is that reconnecting with Eros is the gateway to your passion, power, and aliveness.
🌿 Why Enneagram Type 9s Struggle to Stay Connected to Passion
As a Type Nine, your gift is keeping things peaceful and calm.
But this can come at a cost: suppressing your own needs, ignoring your desires, and losing sight of what truly lights you up.
Common signs of disconnection from Eros include:
- Feeling foggy, tired, or unmotivated
- Avoiding conflict to the point of disengagement
- Numbing with TV, food, scrolling, or over-accommodation
The good news? Your inner fire isn’t gone. It’s there, waiting for your attention.
✨ How Type 9s Can Reclaim Their Vitality Through Eros
Here are five simple, soul-nourishing ways to start reawakening your Eros energy today:
1. Notice What Turns You On Creatively
Look beyond romance—what art, music, ideas, or moments give you a little “spark”? That’s your Eros saying: More of this, please.
Recently, I found this through following my desire to have farm animals, of all things. We added 12 baby hens and 2 baby Valaise/Babydoll sheep to our back yard this past month. Spending time with them…just sitting on the grass, petting them and talking to them has connected me with this energy in ways that I never imagined! I suddenly feel more creative and alive than I have in a long time.

2. Journal Your Desires Daily
Each morning, ask: “What do I truly want today?” Whatever arises, follow it. It may sound small. But even rest, beauty, or connection counts.
Desire is your compass. Follow whatever comes to mind and see what comes of it.
For example, allow yourself some time to read in your comfy recliner to follow your desire for rest. Rearrange your living room or buy a new plant to create beauty. Or call a friend to meet you for lunch to create connection.
3. Move with Presence
The very tissues in your body hold your wisdom.
Dance, stretch, or go for a brisk walk. Let movement help you wake up and bring you to life.
Have you ever danced in front of your bathroom mirror, with music blaring? I recommend it!
4. Say Yes to Beauty and Sensation
Decorate your space. Play music that moves you. Light a candle. Sensory pleasure reconnects you to the now.
This is one of my favorite spots in my house. I love sitting here in our bedrrom and reading or meditating.

5. Gently Replace Numbing with Noticing
When you catch yourself zoning out, pause and ask: “What feeling am I avoiding?” and “What might I need right now?
If you have a hard time answering that question, tune into the sensations in your body and place your hand on your heartand/or your belly, ask it again, and simply notice what arises.
💗 Your Desires Are Not Too Much—They’re Your Truth
It’s safe to want. Safe to feel. Safe to let your inner flame glow brighter.
When you live from Eros, you don’t lose your peace—you deepen it. You begin living with yourself instead of fading into the background.
🌟 A Lit-Up Nine Is a Powerful Force
When Enneagram Type 9s reconnect with their Eros energy, they become:
- Creatively energized
- Emotionally awake
- Purposeful without pressure
- Grounded and magnetic
You don’t have to hustle or change your calm nature. Just feel more.
Start small. Let your desires rise like a flame—and follow them home.
