Want to know the most common emotions that I hear Enneagram Nines saying that they feel on a daily basis? Indecision and confusion. Coming up in third is overwhelm.
These are “indulgent emotions,” meaning they choose to stay stuck in them so that they don’t have to take a risk or expend too much energy.
Saying “I don’t know” helps Nines to keep things as peaceful as possible.
Saying they don’t have the answers is a sneaky way of avoiding something that takes more effort than they want to expend.
It also is an easy way to make sure that they don’t fail, which could possibly lead to separation…their greatest fear.
Here are 3 steps that can help you make a decision:
1) Get honest with yourself.
Ask yourself, “What am I afraid of? What problems will this decision create for me?
Remember that EVERY good idea that makes a difference has consequences that come with it.
2) Be open to new perspectives.
Give equal airtime to the possibilities that this decision can create as you give to your fears.
3) Just decide to decide.
When you avoid FAILURE, you‘re actually avoiding SUCCESS.
•Take your awareness to your heart and place your hand there.
•Ask your heart what it knows. “Is this for me?” Feel for the answer. If it feels like a yes, take quick action. If it feels like a no, quickly let it go and move on. Trust your inner wisdom!
If any of this is challenging for you…I can HELP!!
