It’s no secret that Enneagram 9s are procrastinators.
And if you are anything like me, a list of to-do’s is one of the most common things that gets procrastinated.
Long lists of things to get done can feel overwhelming, and rather than dive in, Nines tend to numb out, or buffer, to avoid the dreaded list.
Sound familiar?
Here are 3 tips that may help you feel motivated to tackle your list of things to do rather than despise it:
1. Change “I have to do this” to “I get to do this.”
Enneagram Nines can be stubborn, and they really hate being told what to do…even by themselves.
So if you think you have no choice but to do something, simply focus on how incredible it is that you get the privilege of doing it instead.
2. Audit the list.
As peacemakers, Enneagram Nines like to blend in and not make waves, which often translates to thinking they have to do things they really don’t want to do.
What are your reasons for thinking that you need to do each thing? Make sure you like them!
3. Make a visual representation of what it’s going to look like to have it already done.
Many Nines have working memory deficits, making it hard to conceptualize what they are trying to do.
Make it visual to stay motivated.
Examples: Take a picture of your organized closet to refer to later or find a photo of your goal to print off or save on your phone.
